The Brabant of Bosch

Around 1250 the formation of the Duchy of Brabant had almost been completed. At the same time it had become clear that the four cities Leuven, Brussels, Antwerp and ’s‑Hertogenbosch would claim a leading role for themselves. Although there was an increasing harmony within Brabant, the cities often took an independent attitude and from time to time conflicts even developed between them.
